I can’t speak for anyone but myself here, but I almost always serve some sort of starch dish with my meals. Whether it be egg noodles, pasta, potatoes or rice.
A big time and money-saver for our family is making a huge pot of rice. After serving it with that evening’s meal, I take the leftovers and bag them individually into dinner-sized servings and put in the freezer for a future meal.
If you take it out of the freezer the night before you’ll be serving it and put it in the refrigerator it will be thawed out by the time you are ready to use it. Then you can just dump the contents into a serving bowl and heat it up for a minute or so in the microwave. To prevent it from drying out, I always put a damp paper towel on top of the rice to help lock the moisture in when I am reheating it in the microwave.
Philippians 1:9-10 – And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,
