Hello! I am LJ and I thought you might be curious to know how I arrived at where I am today.

The following is some background:

When my husband and I met almost 5.5 years ago he had just recently been laid off from his job. The job he was laid off from was not his professional trade, but one he was able to find when new home construction came to a grinding halt. This was the second job that he had been laid off from since walking away from his trade. With new home construction coming to a halt, it put a lot of people out of work, and forced many, many businesses to close their doors – including the two my husband had worked for after his trade died out.
I must have been oblivious to the failing economy at the time, because I didn’t give it a second thought that he was unemployed and it might take a lot longer to find steady work. I figured it might take a couple of months (if that), and then he’d be working again.
We married 8 months after we met (quick, right?), but we are mature people (‘older’ 😉 ) who wanted to get started having babies! He still hadn’t found steady work, but with my income and his unemployment check we could make it until that steady work arrived.
After several years of not having steady work my husband was back to work on a regular basis. It’s as if (while we were sleeping) concrete foundations were being poured and overnight new homes were popping up all over the place! It was booming!!!!

I was finally going to see what it was like to have two steady incomes come into the household! That lasted for 2 months and then the company I worked for almost 5 years laid a lot of people off due to redundancy (they hired people in another country to do our jobs for a very small salary so they didn’t need us anymore) .

1.5 years later new home construction is almost at a standstill again, and we are both struggling to find steady employment.

Thankfully, during the time my husband was completely without work, we scaled down in nearly every facet of our lives. I learned how to do things that I never thought could be done (and learned about things that I didn’t even know existed) and learned how to cope and not fear in a way I never knew was possible.

I’ve learned that with God all things are possible and from that knowledge came blessings of peace and hope, which in turn enabled me to learn how to scale down on a grand scale. That put us in a very good place in this season of life we are facing right now.

Don’t get me wrong – it’s not easy, but it is possible – and I will show you how!

I pray that the information you read on these pages blesses you and those you love abundantly.

God really does love you, and so do I!
