Our National Parks are beautiful, and there are a handful of days throughout the year that entrance is free!

Here are the dates for free entrance to the park (including those that have come and gone):

January 18: Martin Luther King Jr. Day

April 16 through 24: National Park Week

August 25 through 28: National Park Service Birthday

September 24: National Public Lands Day

November 11: Veterans Day

Only 127 of the 400 National Parks charge a fee.

If you are unfortunate enough to live a short ride from one of the 127 that charge a fee, now you can make it a cheap family day of fun, and exploration! Pack a picnic lunch, load the family in the car, and go off exploring for the day!

If you are U.S. Military you can get an annual pass to the entire park system for free! You’ll just need to show your CAC or Military ID (in person). (God bless you and your family and thank you so much for your service!)

The fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise.

Which park(s) are you planning on going to this year?
